The off-season continues to be in full swing with this week’s series of moves. Let’s take a look at the recent news.
SCHEDULE RELEASED
The CFL schedule was released recently, with every team making a promotional video. Two teams followed the same format, and we also got a new jersey tease from the Redblacks. The Riders will play every team at home and away, so that should be a good test for new head coach Corey Mace to show how he performs at home and on the road. The inaugural game of 2024 will be Montreal at Winnipeg for a Grey Cup rematch.
COMBINE COMBINES ON THE PRAIRIES
The next combine locations were revealed this past week. Next year will be in Winnipeg, while the following year will be in Regina. The CFL combine in 2024 will happen from March 19-24th. The athletes will first gather at the University of Waterloo, before then going to Winnipeg for the rest of the combine.
DANDRIDGE DESERVES HIS DOLLARS AND NICHOLS NABS TWO MORE
Brandin Dandridge was recently re-signed by the Ottawa Redblacks to a 2-year deal. Dandridge is an excellent defensive back and a wonderful re-signing for the Redblacks. Dandridge will hope to bring more power to this Redblacks defence, which was one of the worst last year. Also, Deatrick Nichols has re-signed with the Bombers. He will be a key piece for the Bombers defence. They signed him at a good time, as many teams in the CFl would love to take a shot to get him come February.
TOP TENS
The CFL has been releasing new top tens on their YouTube channel. The uploaded videos so far include the top ten catches, touchdowns and interceptions. Kenny Lawler had some absolutely outstanding catches, while Kabion Ento got his place when he notched his Grey Cup INT. More videos are to come, but these so far have been great highlights that really represent how great the CFL is.
That’s it for week 2! Apologies for the delay. Tune in next week for another report!
